  1. Oh yes, Gary Snyder. He is just my favorite above all favorites, his words are so true and so deep and so wild. I’m a little obsessed. A lovely poem by him:

    Pine tree tops

    In the blue night
    frost haze, the sky glows
    with the moon
    pine tree tops
    bend snow-blue, fade
    into sky, frost, starlight.
    The creak of boots.
    Rabbit tracks, deer tracks,
    what do we know.

    1. He has been, as you might imagine, a hero of mine for quite some time. If you haven’t already, you might like to read Jim Dodge, who is his neighbour, inasmuch as they live on neighbouring mountains…
